"Education is Key of Life". Those words are written on the large stone that
marks the entrance to the Bulati Primary School. How true those words are, both
here in the USA and across the world in Tanzania. But, in Tanzania, education
is not always free. Students at Bulati attend school through 7th grade. Their
schooling ends there, unless they have money to continue their education.
Unfortunately, the majority of the families do not have the funds to send their
child to Secondary School.

Secondary School requires the children to leave their village and go to a larger
town, many for the first time! Because they cannot live at home, students need
money for room and board, tuition, uniforms, medical needs, books, and school supplies.
This cost for two terms is approximately $800 per year. To many of us, this is not much money.
But, to a child of Bulati, this can be life changing. Education beyond 7th grade may
allow students to become employed outside of their small village, earning money
to support themselves and to send home to their families.
To assist a child of the Bulati Primary School to continue their education,

information about the students who hope to continue their education. You may
then choose a child that you would like to support. Contact information will be
given to you so that you may write to the student as they attend school. It is
our hope that not only will the student benefit from this relationship, but you
will as well.

Help Build a Water Storage Tank for the Bulati School
As is true in many African locales access to sufficient fresh water is always a challenge for the Bulati School. The nearest reliable water source requires a daily 12 mile round trip journey. During the rainy season it is possible to catch run off from the school building roofs and store it for later use. However, the existing water tank is not large enough to hold all of the available runoff. A second larger tank is needed. Together the two tanks will go a long way toward providing the school with a sustainable year round water supply. Journeys of Solutions has committed to fund the new tank. The cost is $7,000.
